Welcome to the Hunt Rakiura website where you can get helpful information on hunting opportunities for Stewart Island. The website aims to provide you with the necessary information to help you decide whether you would like to take up the challenge to Hunt Whitetail Deer on New Zealand's Stewart Island using the Maori Land Blocks. Stewart Island has for many years been a prized hunting spot for many local and international Hunters.

The costal location of the hunting blocks also provides the opportunity to take advantage of Stewart Islands great fishing and diving opportunities that is also available within the same area of the hunting blocks. Many of the regular hunting parties have been taking advantage of this opportunity to to fish and dive during their hunting trips for many years. Equally we are now getting many parties who are now using the hunting blocks primarily for fishing and diving. 

The Whitetail Deer on these blocks represent the most southern herd of Whitetail Deer in the world and the blocks provide access to good stocks in a stunning location. There is a lot of information on this website that will assist you and it is updated regularly please take the time to check it out. Bookings for 2012 Season are now being considered

New for 2012 season.

1. On island support through our office on Elgin Terrace so you can now complete your bookings directly with us in a timely manner. Plus you will get assistance with your arrivals and departures from the Halfmoon Bay on the island, when you undertake your trip.
2. Deposit Required to secure bookings once booking confirmed and cost available.

What continues from 2011.

1. Discount for blocks used in the shoulder season
2. Cooking Rings and Gas provided for each Hut.
3. 1 Dinghy included for each Block, (Additional Dinghy's and Outboards available for Hire).
4. Night in Oban at Backpackers is included, (If you wish to take advantage of this as most hunters have, you should find this a very enjoyable addition to your trip, plus it allows to to get away early on your day of departure to the block).
